Southern Draw: Cedrus Lancero
Cigar Of The Week Southern Draw Cedrus Lancero (91 Points) This thin, lancero-style cigar is rolled with a dark wrapper and uncut foot, yet it draws quite well. Its spicy notes of ground red pepper are bridged by snaps of leather and coffee that lead to a sweeter toffee character and caramel finish. At 7 1/2 inches by a slim 40 ring gauge, the Southern Draw Cedrus Lancero is made from quite the mix of tobaccos, with Indonesian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler.
Southern Draw: Cedrus Lancero
The subtle yet savoury complexity of the flavours is excellent.
- Strength: Medium
- Length: 7½"
- Ring Gauge: 40
Wrapper: Besuki, Indonesia
Binder: Habano 2000, Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Notes: nutmeg, toasted clove, cinnamon and cedar aromas
"Approaching the final inch the subtle complexity of the flavours is excellent. A light sweetness develops around the edge of the flavour, almost like a dessert. The construction is also perfect. 9.7/10, Joe Bob says check it out." - Cigar Weekly
Product tabs

This has a wonderful pre-light chocolate aroma - it promises a rich and rewarding smoke. The smoke itself doesn't disappoint, again I got a smooth dark chocolate. A woody cedar is obvious in the retrohale. Buyer be-aware, the lancero narrowness means a snug draw, but give it a good initial light up and it's all good. Very enjoyable. This has got Southern Draw brand on my radar: I am looking forward to trying the rest. The midway gets creamier, with leather. Last third embraces coffee and cream. For me, it never got peppery (which I don't particularly enjoy) so a winner. Burned lovely too.
